What You’ll Need

Step 1: Clean the Brew Group

  1. Fill the water tank with fresh water.
  2. Add one Caffenu Universal Cleaning Tablet and let it fully dissolve.
  3. Remove the brew group from the machine.
  4. Soak the brew group in the solution for 15 seconds.
  5. Rinse the brew group under running water until it runs clear.
  6. Reinsert the brew group and close the service door.

This step targets coffee oil buildup and residue in the brew group specifically, the part of the machine that plain water rinsing doesn’t reach.

Step 2: Descale the Water System

  1. Mix the Caffenu Universal Descaler to the ratio stated on the bottle.
  2. Fill the water tank with the mixed solution and seat it back into the machine.
  3. Run the solution through the milk frother outlet first.
  4. Refill the tank with fresh water and run it through the coffee spout.
  5. Refill the tank with fresh water a final time and flush it through both the milk frother outlet and coffee spout until empty.

Both outlets need separate flushing because scale builds up along both water paths, not just one.

If your machine has a water tank:
