Caffenu® is the brainchild of our founder Rowan, based and run in the mother city of Cape Town, South Africa.
Coming from a technical background and being one of the founding members of one of the first Nespresso® compatible capsule manufacturing companies in the world, Rowan has been in the coffee & capsule industry since 2010.
Back in 2013, Rowan started his own coffee machine and capsule supply company, and has pulled apart and dealt with more coffee machines than most people have had hot breakfasts. One of the biggest problems he saw from his own Nespresso® compatible coffee machines and customers with Nespresso® machines, was the state of the brewing chambers and the amount of build-up inside the machines. “Most of the time, all the machines needed was a good thorough cleaning to get them back up and running. You can’t believe some of the mess I have seen in the brewing chambers of these machines,” says Rowan.
After long trials and research of different compositions and methods to clean his own Nespresso® and compatible coffee machines, he found the easiest way to keep them in top notch running condition: a cleaning capsule. Combining the convenience of a capsule, with the functionality of a quick & easy cleaning process for your capsule coffee machine.
This is how Caffenu® was born. Rowan created the first ever Caffenu® cleaning capsule worldwide that could clean the brewing chamber of Nespresso® coffee machines. The capsule uses a unique technology, construction and amazing cleaning compound with powerful foaming and degreasing abilities, that at a press of a button removes all residue that has built up inside your coffee machine.
