Fully Automatic Machine

Full Version: Full and Extended Instructions

  1. Remove infuser/brewing unit out of the machine and rinse thoroughly under running water. Remove remaining grounds, ensure coffee machine is clean and free of coffee. Drip tray and used coffee basket must be empty. Reinsert the rinsed brewing unit.
  2. Place a large cup underneath the coffee spout.
  3. Put one Caffenu® cleaning tablet into the coffee grounds chute.
  4. Press/select the coffee pre-grounds button and select for one cup of coffee (or follow normal procedure for making one cup of coffee from pre-grounds to start the coffee extraction).
  5. When programme is half way through cycle, interrupt by turning the appliance off using the main switch. Let appliance stand for about 5 minutes to allow the solution to take effect. Empty cup.
  6. Switch the appliance on again. Carry out Step 4 to rinse, at least three times or until the water in the cup is clear. Do not add anything to pre-ground chute while carrying out rinsing procedure.
  7. To clean the drip tray and the used coffee basket, either soak it in the cleaning solution from your cup or alternatively place another tablet inside it and fill it up 2/3rds with hot water. Allow the cleaning solution to sit for 5 minutes, then rinse drip tray and used coffee basket thoroughly.

Instructions for manual espresso machines without back flushing capability/three way solenoid valve.

  1. Turn on machine and fill the water tank of the machine with fresh water.
  2. Place the Caffenu® cleaning tablet inside the filter in the coffee handle.
  3. Lock the portafilter/coffee handle into the coffee machine.
  4. Place a large coffee cup underneath the coffee spout and press the appropriate button to dispense coffee.
  5. Stop machine and wait approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Remove portafilter/coffee handle and clean coffee head and seal using brush or cloth.
  7. Replace portafilter/coffee handle. Then repeat Step 4 with large cup until the water from the machine runs clear.
  8. In order to achieve the perfect coffee taste, immediately pour away the first cup of coffee.

Instructions for manual espresso machines that have back flushing capability/three way solenoid valve.

When clean light comes on (orange), it means the machine needs to be cleaned.

  1. Insert the 1-cup filter in the filter holder.
  2. Place the cleaning accessory/blind filter in the filter and press down.
  3. Place the cleaning tablet on the accessory.
  4. Attach the filter holder to the coffee outlet.
  5. Fill the water tank with water, and make sure the drip tray is empty.
  6. Press and hold the hot water button until the clean light comes on. After a few minutes, the cleaning cycle stops automatically.
  7. Remove the filter holder and the cleaning accessory.
  8. Wash the filter holder and the filter under running water.
  9. Attach the filter holder again and place a container under it. Run a rinse cycle by pressing the hot water button.
  10. Remove, empty, and thoroughly rinse the drip tray.
  11. Machine is ready for use.

Instructions for manual espresso machines that have back flushing capability/three way solenoid valve.

When alert (!) light comes on (orange), it means the machine needs to be cleaned.

  1. Put the 1-cup filter in the portafilter.
  2. Put the cleaning accessory/blind filter in the portafilter and press down.
  3. Place the cleaning tablet on the accessory.
  4. Attach the portafilter to the coffee spout.
  5. Fill the water tank with water, and make sure the drip tray is empty.
  6. Press the Coffee Temperature button until the alert (!) indicator blinks.
  7. Press OK to start cleaning: the OK light blinks to show that cleaning is in progress.
  8. Once cleaning stops and the OK indicator turns blue, it is time to do a rinse cycle.
  9. Remove the cleaning accessory, and rinse the portafilter and the filter with fresh water.
  10. Reattach the portafilter and run a rinse cycle by pressing the OK button.
  11. Remove, empty, and thoroughly rinse the drip tray.
  12. Machine is ready for use.

Instructions for manual espresso machines that have back flushing capability/three way solenoid valve.

When the Active Rinse (droplets) light comes on (orange), it means the machine needs to be cleaned.

  1. Place the 1-cup coffee filter in the portafilter.
  2. Put the cleaning disk/blind filter in the coffee filter and press down.
  3. Put the cleaning tablet on the cleaning disk.
  4. Attach the portafilter to the coffee outlet.
  5. Fill the water tank with fresh water, and ensure the drip tray is empty.
  6. Press and hold the Active Rinse button until it starts blinking. After a few minutes, the cleaning cycle stops automatically.
  7. Remove the portaflter and the cleaning disk, and rinse it thoroughly.
  8. Reinsert portafilter, and put a container underneath. Rinse machine by pressing the Active Rinse button.
  9. Remove, empty, and thoroughly rinse the drip tray.
  10. Machine is ready for use.
